Visiting Scholars Program
The Chinese Arts and Humanities Initiative Visiting Scholars Program provides a unique opportunity for participants from around the world to pursue intellectual development on topics related to Chinese arts, humanities, social sciences and more at GW's Columbian College of Arts and Sciences (CCAS). Visiting scholars may conduct teaching and research under short-term, semester-long and yearlong appointments.
Scholars will have access to resources such as the Gelman Library, the Brookings Institution, the Library of Congress and much more. From GW's prime location in Washington, D.C., participants have rare opportunities to engage with government agencies, institutions, foreign embassies and intellectual communities in the U.S. capital.

Faculty Sponsorship
All visiting scholars must be sponsored by a faculty member from a CCAS academic department who is willing to act as an advisor for the proposed research project. Interested applicants should contact their faculty mentor to confirm research interests and a mutual desire to collaborate. CCAS would be able to review and provide sponsorship after receiving the international scholar’s request from the selected hosting academic department. See details about sponsorship on the main application page.
