Ms. Frances Taoran Sun
Executive Director, CCAS Global Initiatives
Frances Taoran Sun has a decade of experience working in the field of international higher education and administration. She is the executive director of global initiatives for the Columbian College of Arts & Sciences at the George Washington University, in charge of all global programs, international partnerships and outreach for the College. She had extensive experience providing oversight to many international programs that are interfaced with countries around the world. She serves on various university committees that are focused on international education.
Prior to the positions at GWU, she was the assistant manager for the Bank-Fund Staff Federal Credit Union within the World Bank, International Monetary Fund and International Financial Corporations. She is a member of the International Committee of DC Chamber of Commerce and the Public Diplomacy Alumni Association.
She also serves as the managing director of the Center for Chinese Arts and Humanities at the George Washington University. She holds a B.S. in Decision Information Sciences from the University of Maryland College Park and an M.S. in Finance from the Johns Hopkins University.
